The Customer is Always Right

$20.00

Picture the serene tableau of a moderately classy dining establishment with a reputation for fine service and good vibes. This pleasant scene is disrupted by a disgruntled customer's demands and complaints. Other diners become increasingly uncomfortable as the dissatisfied customer degrades the underpaid service staff. The complaints escalate into a wrathful crescendo of insults, expletives, and probably some bigotry, before the angry customer storms out with head held high, proud of once again ensuring that society upholds their standards. These standards, they believe, are unequivocally legitimate according to the eponymous adage, “The Customer is Always Right.” Scenes like this have become commonplace online, and I find this both depressing and morbidly entertaining. I’ve tried to capture the essence of one such episode in a piano piece for four hands. I hope you enjoy it more than Karen enjoyed her spaghetti Bolognese.
